The Ellis House & Equestrian Center, part of the Kendall County Forest Preserve District, welcomes you to our Race Page.

All race proceeds go towards making Kendall county a better place to be. We employ conservation practices for all our events and encourage event participants to learn more about taking care of this beautiful place we live in.

Runner on 5K course jumping. Participants will receive a shirt, along with other goodies. We will be serving refreshments after the race in our indoor arena and entertainment usually includes horse drawn hay/sleigh rides, educational displays, horse demonstrations and an awards ceremony.

Hopefully, you will get dirty, wet and muddy, so we recommend bringing a change of clothes and shoes! For more information call Ellis House & Equestrian Center at 815-475-4035, or email Tina at Tina@ellishec.com Race information and registration forms are available: find the links below. Biologically significant Stream Definition

Biologically Significant Streams (BSS): Streams that have a high rating or score based on data from at least two taxonomic groups. This can be achieved by obtaining an "A" rating either for diversity or for integrity that is based on data from two or more taxonomic groups. A second way to achieve this status is for a stream segment to have class scores in the highest class for at least two different taxonomic groups when considering the combined data from the diversity and integrity ratings. Stream segments identified as biologically significant are unique resources in the state and the biological communities present must be protected at the stream reach, as well as upstream of the reach. Therefore BSS reaches were extrapolated from site-specific information to upstream stream segments to arrive at the segments identified as biologically significant. To learn more, go to the IDNR website or download a pdf of Stream Ratings in IL Adobe PDF Icon .
